Mini RC Trucks - Size Matters

“Small, fast & fun”… This is what one feels and speaks after just one hands-on experience with the mini RC trucks, simulated remote controlled small-sized trucks – specifically for an in-door fun.

Usage of mini RC trucks, out of the wide range of RC vehicles, is growing tremendously– an emergent segment, regardless of what place around the world is it. Introduction of new models over the years and continuous improvement in quality and performance, RC trucks are gaining immense popularity around the world, some even doing better than many RC cars. Be it Tamiya TLT-1 Rockbuster R/C mini monster truck, Kyosho Mini-Z mini RC truck or Losi Mini-T mini RC stadium truck, size and ease of use says it all for these popular mini RC trucks.

Small-sized trucks are becoming more popular day by day, reason being the high costs of racing and fewer places to do competitions of the same because of which mini RC trucks provide a good substitute. In 1980’s and 1990’s, mini cars and trucks were introduced by Kyosho but they didn’t become much popular because people were more interested in using huge ones for racing etc. However, because of the above mentioned reasons, mini RC trucks are now more in demand than huge ones.

Either bought as a ready-to-run truck or built completely by you, a typical mini RC truck is usually 17 inches long and 12 inches wide – i.e. 1/10 scale. Even smaller than these include only 5.3 inches long Kyosho BMW X5 Mini-Z Overland – i.e. 1/28 scale. Other available scales are 1/24 and 1/18. Fast mini RC trucks are the latest craze among people, offering exciting fun at a small place. They are especially designed to be used inside rooms and small places; however the size does not compromise with the speed of these mini pieces - the fast Tamiya Tamtech (1/24 scale) is capable of running over 20 miles per hour. Stable performances along with small size and ease of use, RC trucks are fun to use.

It’s an enjoyable experience not only to use mini RC trucks but also just watching them run wildly over any kind of objects at your home – you can even run them over pillows, bottles or jars! Their ability of being very close to the real trucks in terms of everything they do, RC trucks are in great demand by people everywhere around the world. They are built tough; the body seems to be heavier than the wheels that make them appear to roll over at any moment but actually the wheels are designed in such a way as to provide a squat center of gravity.

Mini RC trucks are mostly electric because they are built in such a way so as to use at small places. For people who are new to remote control vehicles are highly recommended to use electric RC trucks because of the fact that they are much simpler to use and maintain. Durability, strength and performance of the electric trucks depend on the kind that you buy; some of them are built in such a way that they ride fine on rough roads as well. Ease of use of electric RC trucks can also be judged by the fact that they are controlled and operated by a common set of components including a transmitter to send signals to the receiver that’s inside the truck.

Mini RC trucks are available separately with 2 and 4 wheels to make the experience more pleasing. Some of them even give the option to switch from 2 to 4 wheels and vice versa. As rightly said above, RC trucks are very close to the real trucks, the 4 wheels truck like real trucks can run over rough and steep surfaces as compared to the 2 wheels truck. Though flexible, the 4 wheels truck has a more complicated transmission system than a 2 wheels truck. Also, as all RC trucks require regular engine maintenance especially to make them run smoothly, a 4 wheels truck requires more time and effort for the routine ‘check-up’. These things, however, don’t matter much while you’re buying a RC truck – performance of all is the same in one way or the other. The thing that would matter the most for buying an RC truck is the price – these small metal pieces are way too expensive! It’s highly recommended that before buying them, a proper survey should be done to compare prices; quality-wise all of them are almost the same. Some of the best sites on internet even let you get good bargains; you may even get to know about someone who’s selling his/ her old RC trucks at good rates.

All-in-all, this segment of remote controlled vehicles is growing tremendously; people actually look forward to know about and get new models of mini rc trucks that come in the market. It’s all about quality, performance, appearance and most importantly – THE SIZE!
